
Parvathy Menon
Parvathy Menon is a sophomore in the software engineering program at San Jose State University. She has more than a year of experience in teaching Java, and she has also tutored high school students for the 2015 AP Computer Science exam held by College Board. Her current internship at Centric Software requires her to use advanced Java programming on a regular basis, and she has worked in building detailed mobile applications for the Android platform in the Agile workflow. She has taken advanced collegiate classes in the fields of math, computer science, and engineering. She also has extensive experience in the programming languages of Python, Java (for Android), Swift 2 (for iOS), HTML/CSS, and others. She completed AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics by her sophomore year of high school. She has also taken college courses such as Linear Algebra and Discrete Mathematics prior to starting university, and she is now focusing on final-year math courses such as Differential Equations as well as Applied Probability and Statistics. Her passion and goal with her classes is to share the knowledge that garnered her interest in a subject gaining popularity in Silicon Valley, and she wants to make computer science a challenging yet rewarding experience for students. She also wants students to succeed in their math and computer science classes at school by understanding fundamentals instead of relying on memorization.
